As the Queer-Referat we want to welcome anyone who is marginalized because of their sexual, romantic and/or gender-identity: Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay and Trans* people, Non-binary and Genderqueer People who dont identify as Trans, Inter* persons, Queer people and everyone else, whos labels (or preference to use none) is not explicitly stated here.
Our work centers around two pillars: on the one hand we provide political education on the topics of sexual, romantic and gender diversity from an intersectional perspective, to which everyone who is interested is invited.
On the other hand we also engage in community building with a multitude of social Events. We are happy to see you at our events, including visitors who don’t (no longer) study!

Coffee hour
In the Wintersemester ’25/26 we offer our coffee hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12 to 5 pm and Thursdays from 12:30 to 5pm.
You can find us in our office on the first floor of the AStA-Container behind the Mensa CAMPO (Endenicher Allee 19). Make yourself a coffee or tea, engage in conversations or just listen to the other visitors and employees. In our office you can additionally have a look at our media library with plenty of fiction, non-fictionbooks and DVDs.
Consulting
Entering the queer world is not always easy – whether you are new to Bonn or have only recently come out. We want to help you as much as we can. And whether you are looking for personal contact or would prefer to have an anonymous conversation via email first, our counselors are of course discreet, trained, and take a peer-to-peer approach. This means that they have had similar experiences themselves! In any case, the Cologne/Bonn area offers a wide range of services, a very tolerant climate, and a real opportunity to live openly as a queer person.
Events
At the beginning of each semester, we offer a wide range of Events for new students. All new and familiar faces are welcome to attend the semester reception, a tour of Cologne’s nightlife, and brunch. Our program includes regular theme-nights, game nights and a monthly bar gettogether.
In addition, we organize lectures and other activities on LGBTQ*+ topics at irregular intervals. Every year we also visit the ColognePride (CSD Köln) with you.
